Crandall ISD Honored with Statewide Award for Purchasing Excellence for Fourth Consecutive Year

Crandall, Texas – Crandall Independent School District is proud to announce that its Purchasing Department has been recognized by the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) with a 2026 Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations for the fourth year in a row.

The Award of Merit, established in 2009, recognizes Texas school districts, open-enrollment charter schools, and education service centers that demonstrate a commitment to professional standards and best practices in the acquisition of goods and services. Each year, the TASBO Purchasing & Supply Management Research Committee reviews and updates the award criteria to reflect evolving best practices and rigorously evaluates applicant districts.

In 2026, only 84 school districts and organizations across Texas met the stringent criteria required to earn the award.

“Congratulations to our Business Office and purchasing team on this well-deserved recognition,” said Dr. Anjanette Murry, Superintendent of Crandall ISD. “Earning this award for the fourth consecutive year reflects their commitment to transparency, efficiency, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars as we continue working to provide exceptional opportunities for every Crandall ISD student.”

“Our Business Office Team plays a critical role in ensuring our campuses and departments have the resources they need to support students and staff,” said Todd Garrison, Chief Financial Officer. “This recognition affirms our commitment to strong financial practices, compliance, and continuous improvement in service to our community.”

“We’re proud of the work our honorees do to streamline school purchasing operations, comply with regulations, and set the standard for how to utilize taxpayer dollars,” said Tracy Ginsburg, TASBO Executive Director. “That so many teams take the time to document their practices and procedures speaks to the strength of school finance and operations in schools across Texas.”

Members of Crandall ISD’s Business Office will be recognized at an awards reception sponsored by BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative on February 25, 2026, during the TASBO Annual Conference in Grapevine.
